This tutorial was written by me on February 14, 2006. You may link to it through your groups and print it out for future use, but nothing, including my ideas, are to be removed from this site. This tutorial assumes that you have a reasonable knowledge of PSP and working with layers. I used images from Pinup Girl Clothing.

You will need the following supplies:

Tube, images, and font of your choice

Squares template, made by Becky of secrets of the imagination and used with permission! Thank you…check out her site for more goodies!

1. Hide the watermark on your template by clicking on the eye glasses on your layer palette. Image/add borders with a width of 15, color white. Copy.

 2. Open a new transparent canvas, 600x500. Flood fill with white to give you a better idea of what you’re working with. Paste your template onto your canvas.

 3. Give it the following drop shadow:

 4. Copy and paste your main tube as a new layer and position. Resize if needed, being sure that “resize all layers” is unchecked. Give it a drop shadow; I used Loka’s 3d shadow but any will do!

 5. Make your template layer active. Grab your magic wand with 0 tolerance and feather and click inside the top left square.

 6. Open all the images that you plan to use. I used six of them and placed various “pieces” in the squares. Copy and paste one of them onto your canvas; you may need to resize. Position the part of the image that you want showing in your selection.

 7. Selections/invert and then press delete on your keyboard to get rid of the excess. Deselect by hitting control d on your keyboard.

 8. Make your template layer active again and click inside of the second square with your magic wand. Copy and paste another image as a new layer and position to your liking. Selections/invert and hit delete again. Deselect.

 9. Repeat the above steps for the remainder of your squares. Remember to be sure that your template layer is active each time you make a selection and that you place each image as a NEW layer.

 10. Add your text; I used Hurricane with both vector and anitalias checked so that I could stretch it to my liking. Layers/convert to raster layer.

 11. Give it a drop shadow:

 12. Add the appropriate copyright information and your watermark so that you both receive credit for your work.

 13. If you are satisfied with your tag as it is, crop it and save as a jpg file. If you would like to animate it, continue reading!

***Animation***

14. Crop your image as above. We will need to do some merging to prepare for the animation.

 15. Hide all of your layers except for the images that you placed inside of the squares. Using your mover tool to see what layer is what, hide alternating images by clicking the eyeglasses on your layer palette. You should end up with something like this:

 16. Layers/merge visible. Hide this layer.

 17. Unhide the rest of your small images. Layers/merge visible.

 18. Then unhide all of the rest of your layers. Your small images should now be two separate, merged layers.

 19. Make one of them active and go to Colors/colorize and type in 0 and 0 to greyscale the images:

 20. Edit/copy merged and then launch your animation shop. Right click and paste as a new animation.

 21. Back in PSP, edit/undo to get rid of the colorization. Make your second layer of small images the active layer and repeat step 19.

 22. Edit/copy merged. Right click in the first frame in animation shop and hit shift control L on your keyboard to paste it after current frame.

 23. Click inside of the first frame and hit “control A” to select all of them. Go to Animation/frame properties. Change the speed to 50.

 24. Go to view/animation to see your tag in motion! I hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions feel free to email me or drop me a note on the forum. Thanks for stopping by!
